On the workbench now …

English Tall Case Clock By E Box – Circa 1800.

The clock on the left was purchased by my grand nephew.

At home the clock had three apparent issues: 1) The escape wheel had two broken teeth. 2) The pendulum was grossly too long. 3) The motion works were malfunctioning with the hands unpredicatbly falling back during the 6:00 to 12:00 position

The damaged escape wheel. Two broken teeth (yellow arrows), one of which had an attempted repair which did not seem to be working well. One tooth with now obvious damage but a solder droplet apparent (blue arrow).

First Step: Remove the old repair and solder.
